The key duties of the position include The Role The primary function is to provide expert policy advice, lead complex range development initiatives by providing high-quality advice and recommendations to senior staff, managing relationships with various stakeholders and represent their work area's goals effectively: Interpret and comply with legislation, policies and procedures relating to the safe operation of live fire ranges. Develop and manage technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product and equipment. Acquire and apply understanding of range facilities, safety requirements and range templates to ensure a safe working environment. Provision of advice on design of target systems. Provision of advice on the design and construction of new range facilities and the improvement of existing ranges and facilities. Provision of advice to the Army Modernisation Program as it relates to live fire ranges. Ensure regular inspections and review of range operating and safety systems. About our Team The team within the range complex consists of members across the ADF, APS and civilian contractor workforce. The Range Manager will be required to ensure that all elements and parties are able to contribute to the safe and effective operation of the range complex which supports and enables critical training activities to be conducted for its members.
