About the role These Grade 3 weekend positions (Saturday and/or Sunday) offer a unique opportunity to develop advanced clinical and leadership skills while making a tangible impact on patient care within acute medicine. These roles are based across Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital and /or Angliss Hospital, playing an instrumental role in facilitating safe, timely and patient-centered discharges over the weekend. You will bring strong clinical expertise to; • Lead physiotherapy input into weekend discharge planning • Prioritise appropriate patients and address barriers to discharge • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team including Allied Health Assistants to enhance patient flow • Engage dynamically with Eastern Health ambulatory services to assist patient transition home • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care at a Grade 3 level. As an integral part of your role, you will have access to supports and opportunities to continuously improve your clinical and leadership capabilities. This includes: • Regular supervision, support & coaching - both individually and as part of the senior leadership team (Aged and Complex Care stream) • Regular engagement with Physiotherapy/Allied Health managers • Regular access to the broader Physiotherapy Leadership Teams • In-house professional development opportunities • Access to Allied Health Research department and Quality Teams to support you to participate in and lead quality and research initiatives About you To be successful in this role you will possess: • Recognised tertiary qualification in relevant discipline. • Current registration Australian Physiotherapy Board. • Eligibility for Membership of Professional Association. • Extensive clinical experience in geriatric care across the continuum. • Experience in leadership of staff, including professional development and supervision. • Experience in clinical education of staff and students. • High level communication and collaborative practice. • Demonstrable engagement in innovative work practice • Sound knowledge of community organisations and networks. Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
