About the role: We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Hospital Billing Officer with experience in the Hospital industry to join us on a full-time basis with a minimum 76 hours per fortnight. Flexible work arrangements with ability to work from home 2 days per week. This role is preferably Brisbane based but will consider applicants with Senior Hospital Billing experience from other areas. Duties and responsibilities: The Hospital Billing Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing of hospital services, including inpatient and outpatient episodes of care. This role plays a critical part in revenue integrity by processing accounts in line with Medicare requirements, private health fund rules, and relevant legislation. Prepare, process, and reconcile patient accounts for hospital services Ensure accurate billing in accordance with: Medicare (MBS) requirements Private Health Insurance rules and contracts Liaise with Hospital administrative teams to verify patient details and services provided Process private patient elections and health fund eligibility checks Submit claims to Medicare, private health funds, and other payers Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, rejected claims, and patient or insurer queries Maintain accurate records in hospital billing and patient administration systems Comply with relevant legislation, including privacy and confidentiality requirements Contribute to audits, reporting, and continuous improvement of billing processes About You: You have a genuine passion for providing world-class customer service and patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare.
