SASM Farm is an Australian piggery operation specialising in commercial pig breeding and pork production. Our business operates in accordance with industry best practice, with a strong focus on animal welfare, biosecurity, productivity, and workplace safety. Due to ongoing operational needs, we are seeking experienced Senior Piggery Stockpersons to join our team. About the Role This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day management and care of pigs across various stages of production. The successful applicants will play a key role in maintaining animal health, supervising stock activities, and supporting efficient farm operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily care and management of pigs, including feeding, health monitoring, and welfare checks Supervise breeding, farrowing, weaning, and grower operations Monitor animal behaviour, growth, and health, and identify signs of illness or distress Administer routine animal health treatments in accordance with veterinary and farm protocols Maintain accurate farm records relating to stock performance and health Ensure compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity, and workplace safety standards Assist with staff supervision, training, and task allocation where required Support farm management with operational planning and productivity improvements Requirements Certificate III in relevant field or three years work experience Sound knowledge of pig breeding, nutrition, and animal husbandry practices Strong understanding of animal welfare and biosecurity requirements Ability to work independently and take responsibility for livestock outcomes Good communication and record-keeping skills Physically fit and willing to work in a farm environment
