Plant Operator / Labourer - Local Government (Parks & Open Spaces) Calling all Plant Operators and Labourers! A Local Government Council is seeking an experienced Plant Operator / Labourer to join their Parks & Open Spaces team based in Emu Park . You'll play a key role in maintaining parks, gardens, and public spaces that the community enjoys every day. Immediate Start Available Great Team & Positive Council Culture A Day in the Life Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Operating Council plant including tractor/slashers, street sweepers, side arms, and water trucks Maintenance of parks, gardens, and open spaces including mowing, spraying, pruning, irrigation, and landscaping Undertaking specialised gardening and general labouring tasks Pest and disease control within the scope of training and certification Assisting with site preparation, clean-up, and horticultural/arboricultural projects Conducting visual inspections of park facilities and reporting defects The Ideal Candidate You will ideally bring: Certificate III in Horticulture and/or relevant experience as a Plant Operator/Labourer Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence Construction Industry White Card Demonstrated experience operating plant and machinery Ability to work outdoors and perform physical work First Aid Certificate (desirable) Queensland Traffic Controller Licence (desirable) About Us Join a community-focused Local Government organisation committed to maintaining high-quality parks, gardens, and public spaces for residents and visitors.
