The Role: We’re recruiting a Linux Systems Engineer for a day-rate contract supporting critical systems within a large-scale telecommunications environment. This role is suited to senior Linux engineers who prefer hands-on delivery roles and are comfortable operating and improving production platforms in service-provider network environments. The Responsibilities: Engineering and supporting systems used to operate and support network services; Deep Linux (RHEL) administration, troubleshooting and optimisation; Automating build and configuration using Ansible and Python; Supporting virtualised and container platforms (VMware / OpenShift); Providing L3 production support for business-critical systems; and Working closely with network and systems engineering teams. The Requirements : Strong senior-level Linux (RHEL) experience; Experience supporting systems in a telco / ISP environment; Hands-on Ansible automation experience; Working knowledge of Python; Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking; and Comfortable working in production, high-availability environments.
