Our Role We are seeking a friendly, reliable and community-minded Canteen Assistant to join our vibrant Woods Cafe team. This role supports the day-to-day operation of the College canteen, providing quality cafe and food services to students, staff, parents and the wider College community. Working closely with the Woods Manager, the Canteen Assistant plays an important role in promoting healthy food choices, delivering excellent customer service and supporting catering for College events, while upholding Kingswood College values and child safety standards. Responsibilities include: Assisting with the efficient day-to-day operation of The Woods Cafe Providing welcoming and professional service at point of sale Processing student lunch orders, including counter service and online systems Assisting with food preparation in line with healthy canteen guidelines Supporting catering for College events, sporting days and functions Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness Assisting with stock control, ordering, receiving and restocking supplies Supporting cash handling and daily reconciliation in line with College procedures Assisting with the training and support of volunteers Maintaining a positive and respectful environment for students and staff Uphold our Child Safety standards and policies at all times Uphold the values and vision of Kingswood College, contributing positively to our community Successful applicants will: Hold a valid Employment Working With Children Check Demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety and student wellbeing Have excellent customer service and communication skills Be reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team Show initiative, flexibility and the ability to remain calm under pressure Be able to relate positively to people of all ages Experience in hospitality, food handling or event catering is desirable, as is a current Safe Food Handling Certificate. First Aid and Anaphylaxis Management training will also be highly regarded.
