Allied Health Assistant (Identified) | Permanent Full Time | Weipa We're looking for a local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who wants steady work, meaningful purpose, and the chance to support the health and wellbeing of their own community. You don't need a qualification / degree. You don't need experience in health. You just need to care about people and be willing to learn. About the role The purpose of this position is to contribute to patient care by providing supporting tasks delegated under direct or indirect supervision of an Allied Health Professional. This includes completing both clinical and non-clinical support activities at Weipa Integrated Health Service, Western Cape York Primary Health Care Centres, and Aged and Disability Service facilities and may include some community and client home based tasks. This is an Identified position and is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only. What you'll be doing (day-to-day) Supporting clients during appointments and activities Helping with simple therapy exercises and daily tasks Setting up equipment and resources Yarn-based engagement with clients and families Being a familiar, trusted face within the health service You'll be supported, trained, and never expected to know everything on day one.
