Your key responsibilities: Apply independent specialist scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of tests results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate to ensure that the pathology service meets the requirements of the Prince Charles Hospital Laboratory and Metro North Hospital and Health Services. Provide scientific leadership to supervise Anatomical Pathology diagnostic testing, development of scientific practices and related duties following Pathology Queensland established accredited protocols and standards within a medium sized multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, procedures and protocols and across The Prince Charles Hospital group laboratories. Provide expert advice to senior management, peers and other relevant stakeholders on professional, scientific, resources and operational issues relating to Anatomical Pathology service provision and provide after-hours support and advice on complex scientific and technical issues. Key competencies (role specific criteria): Demonstrated ability to apply advanced level scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of Anatomical Pathology advice to the clinical unit where appropriate to ensure that the pathology service meets the requirements of the Hospital and Health Service. Demonstrated ability to provide advice to laboratory staff and clients on a broad range of issues pertaining to service delivery and improvement opportunities for Pathology Queensland. Demonstrated ability to provide scientific services of a complex nature to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards and established principles / procedures. Why work with us?
