Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide strategic, hands-on legal support across a national industrial and logistics property portfolio. Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership, this role offers genuine influence over asset performance, income security, risk management and long-term investment strategy. Identify and manage legal risks impacting income security, valuation and saleability across jurisdictions. Support consistent legal standards nationally while addressing jurisdiction-specific requirements. Industrial Leasing & Income Protection Draft, review and negotiate industrial and logistics leases across multiple Australian jurisdictions. Advise on incentives, rent review mechanisms, options, renewals, variations, assignments and subleasing. Manage tenant default, enforcement and insolvency matters. Support leasing strategies that maximise WALE, minimise vacancy and protect income certainty. Property Lifecycle & Operations Oversee legal matters relating to acquisitions, developments, construction, leasing and renewals. Advise on property and facilities management agreements. Support capital works, upgrades, automation projects and tenant works. Manage make-good and dilapidations strategies on a portfolio-wide basis. Oversee appointed managing agents and review property-level budgets. Compliance & Regulatory Risk Advise on planning, environmental, WHS and property compliance across multiple states. Manage risks associated with dangerous goods, contamination, transport access and industrial operations. Support regulator engagement and incident response as required. Transactions & Finance Support national acquisitions and disposals in conjunction with internal stakeholders. Manage legal due diligence across jurisdictions. Advise on asset-level and portfolio-level financing and refinancing. Support legal matters relating to insurance, banking and commercial arrangements. Governance & Risk Develop and maintain national leasing and asset management templates. Instruct and manage external legal advisers when required. Escalate material legal risk and non-conformance to the CEO. Support governance, reporting, quality systems and WHS obligations. What We’re Looking For Admitted Legal Practitioner in Australia with 3 to 5 years’ PQE in property law. Strong experience in industrial or commercial leasing and asset management . Commercially minded, confident and able to operate autonomously with senior stakeholders. Experience in a fast-paced, landlord-led or high-growth environment highly regarded. Why Join? This is not a back-office legal role. You’ll have a genuine seat at the table, direct access to decision-makers, and the opportunity to shape legal strategy across a national portfolio. You’ll be involved in deals from start to finish, influence asset performance and valuation outcomes, and play a key role in the future growth of the business.
