Impact you will have in this role This is a newly created Senior Philanthropy Manager role, established following an internal promotion and reflecting the continued growth of Opportunity International Australia’s fundraising program. At its heart, this role balances hands-on relationship management with leadership responsibility. You’ll engage, retain and grow a diverse portfolio of major supporters, including individuals, small business owners, giving circles, and philanthropic networks across NSW, VIC, ACT, and TAS, building meaningful, long-term partnerships that drive sustainable impact across Opportunity’s microfinance and health programs globally. With oversight of two remote team members, you’ll also play a key role in coaching, supporting and developing others. Key Responsibilities: Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors giving $10,000k, building tailored engagement strategies to retain, upgrade and deepen supporter relationships Deliver financial and non-financial targets, while identifying and cultivating new high-net-worth supporters, including individuals, businesses and philanthropic funds Work closely with program and fundraising colleagues to identify compelling funding opportunities Develop tailored proposals and deliver high-quality donor experiences, including events and engagement activities Proactively engage new philanthropic prospects and referral networks to grow the donor base Provide leadership, coaching and support to direct reports, fostering a collaborative, high-performing major gifts team Host and speak at events, donor gatherings, presentations and insight trips Develop and steward relationships with donors to identify and cultivate planned giving opportunities, including gifts in Wills Oversee accurate reporting, supporter planning and data management, ensuring strong pipeline visibility and data integrity within Raiser’s Edge Represent Opportunity International Australia professionally across networks, events and industry forums, strengthening the organisation’s profile and reputation Skills and experience We are searching for a relationship builder at heart - driven by purpose, inspired by people, and committed to making an impact A deep alignment with Opportunity’s mission and faith-based values Experience in relationship fundraising, sales or customer engagement, with a strong track record of delivering outcomes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently engage with high-net-worth individuals and represent an organisation publicly Proactive and self-directed, with strong organisational and time management skills Adaptableandresilient A team player with a high level of emotional intelligence and integrity Demonstrated qualities in management Experience in or exposure to the international aid and development sector is not essential but highly advantageous Applications Please direct all enquiries to Kristina Baric at Impact Advising on kristina@impactadvising.com.au Impact Advising is committed to creating diverse and inclusive work environments that reflect the rich tapestry of our communities.
