About the role Join the Front Office team at Royal Rehab Private Petersham and play a key role at the centre of our hospital operations. This is a dynamic opportunity for a healthcare administration professional who enjoys variety, teamwork, and making a real impact every day. You’ll coordinate front office and clerical functions, support the Administration team, and assist with manager-driven tasks across the hospital as needed. Key responsibilities include: Typing, data entry, telephone and email communication, filing, photocopying, scanning and occasionally general enquiries of a non-clinical nature. Maintenance of computer skills consistent with Microsoft Office and general data entry. Conducting private health fund eligibility checks for inpatient admission. Completion of all inpatient pre-admission paperwork, and collation of their Medical Records. Completion of all inpatient admissions in ePas. Collection and processing all payments for equipment purchases and services, including Excess and Co-payments, and from self-funded patients. Following up unpaid Excess and/or Co-payments, and equipment purchases prior to discharge. Balancing midnight census and reporting any discrepancies. Ad hoc assistance with Day Program pre-admissions in ePas, when necessary. Ad hoc mailing and emailing of doctors’ letters. Developing liaison and interaction with other staff to actively promote a positive customer-centric culture throughout the Hospital. Attend education courses as appropriate for mandatory competencies and customer service. About you We are seeking a self-motivated and friendly individual with: Essential Criteria: Recent medical reception experience and administrative skills. Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills. Professional telephone manner with a mature, professional ‘can-do’ attitude. Excellent customer service skills and a patient-centered approach. Excellent time management and ability to prioritise. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated competence in the use of all Microsoft programs, Windows-based software, patient management systems (or willingness to train in same). Demonstrated capacity to work independently as well as part of a team. Private health fund, and Medicare knowledge. Desirable Criteria: Previous experience working in private health, allied health or hospital environment.
