The Role: We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join a highly skilled team in the Clayton precinct. In this role, you will have control over all aspects of the product development process, from concept to production. You will function as a Project Manager with strong technical capabilities, ensuring products meet customer expectations, industry standards, and compliance requirements. This role does not involve CAD work, as you will be supported by a dedicated CAD design team. Key Responsibilities: Manage the detailed design of components and systems, based on customer requirements and manufacturing feasibility. Develop and execute product testing and evaluation. Manage all project timelines and documentation. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including commercial and manufacturing teams. Ensure product compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and Australian/International Standards. Essential Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or proven equivalent experience). Proven automotive engineering experience. Proven project management skills and a track record in delivering projects and new products. Sound knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., sheet metal fabrication, plastic molding). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and oral). Experience working with suppliers and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
