Located on the Camperdown Campus in the Faculty of Science Opportunity to design, develop and deliver meaningful high school outreach programs focusing on Mathematics and Statistics as part of the Khuda Women in STEM Program Base Salary $112K - $122K p.a. (HEO7) pro rata 17% superannuation About the opportunity Reporting to the Manager, School Programs, the Senior Science Communicator – Women in STEM will lead the development and communication of high school outreach programs to present and promote science concepts particularly Mathematics and Statistics for the Khuda Women in STEM Program. Your key responsibilities will be to: Lead the workshop delivery for programs related to Mathematics and Statistics content development and continuous improvement of programs based on evaluation data collaborate across multiple teams across the university to ensure delivery of key program aims coordinate and train casual academics in program content, compliance and conduct support the coordination of engineering related events as advised ensure compliance requirements for the work area including ensuring safe and inclusive environments for all child-related activity The Faculty of Science is one of six faculties operating within the University and includes the Schools of Chemistry, Geosciences, History and Philosophy of Science, Life and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics, Psychology and the Sydney School of Veterinary Science. The Faculty stewards a range of research entities including the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics, and partners with University-wide research centres including the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC), the Brain and Mind Centre (BMC) and the Australian Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology (AINST). As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Senior Science Communicator Women in STEM who has: An undergraduate degree in Science with Mathematics and Statistics focus Engineering background, experience or related qualifications is highly desirable Knowledge of the HSC Science and Mathematics curriculums Experience delivering outreach programs, preferably in a high school and tertiary education environment Experience in writing promotional or marketing collaterals Experience working in a cross-functional team Proven experience in event management promotions, coordination and logistics A current NSW driver’s license, C Class Must be willing to travel to deliver outreach programs in high schools A Working with Children Check Clearance is a mandatory requirement. Note: Some early morning, evening, and weekend work will be required in addition to intermittent travel.
