Sydney location Permanent Full-time Opportunity Flexible and hybrid working arrangements Stunning new offices in CBD close to all major transport hubs About the role Tourism Australia is seeking a n experienced and dynamic Head of Procurement to manage the procurement team and the full procurement and contract management functions , including mitigating governance risks by ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and internal procurement policies, as well as providing expert advice to stakeholders on planning, developing, sourcing and managing procurement and contract arrangements. This role is a permanent full-time opportunity reporting to the Executive General Manager, Corporate Services based in our Sydney office. You will be responsible for : Mentoring and leading a high performing procurement team Provi ding expert advice to stakeholders, including participating in evaluation panels for major procurement s , and deliver ing regular training to staff Lead ing and manag ing high value procurement s Supporting commercial negotiations with prospective partners Provid ing specialist and technical advice on procurement and contract management matters and seeking professional advice from probity and other professional external partners where Manag ing the effective implementation of the new procurement & contract management platform and any future enhancements that may be r equired Build ing and manag ing relationships with key stakeholders to provide insights on business needs, resolve issues and effectively deliver , and demonstrate delivery of , value fo r money outcomes Design ing and coordinat ing the delivery of comprehensive training programs Preparing reports a s for key stakeholders Lead liaison with internal and external auditors and ANAO on procurement matters , manage audit fieldwork and implement governance recommendations Set ting the strategic direction for procurement including plan ning and manage the review and development of procurement policies, procedures and guidelines About you Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Procurement A CIPS qualification is highly regarded At least 1 0 years in a senior business advisory or procurement role, including a minimum of 2 years within a Commonwealth government agency or department Deep knowledge of AusTender processes and government tender panels Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to lead and drive outcomes Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and communicate complex contractual information clearly to diverse audiences Demonstrated e xperience in working effectively in fast-paced, high-performing, cross-cultural and professional team s Willingness to be flexible with working hours as part of a multinational organisation About us Tourism Australia is the Australian Government agency responsible for attracting international visitors to Australia, both for leisure and business events.
