The Team McCullough Robertson’s Construction and Infrastructure team is recognised for guiding clients through all stages of major projects across Australia. The team advises top-tier and mid-tier contractors on high-value disputes, regulatory investigations, arbitrations and Security of Payment matters. With a strong presence across major New South Wales infrastructure projects, the team also supports key government bodies. Renowned for delivering practical, commercially focused advice, the team regularly competes with top-tier firms on complex disputes and project advisory work. The Role As a Legal Assistant, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of this busy and high-performing practice. Supporting two partners and their wider team, this is a varied role where no two days will be the same. Key responsibilities will include: Providing high-level administrative and secretarial support to the team; Diary management, including coordination of meetings, room bookings and catering requirements; Opening and closing files, including preparation of cost agreements; Coordinating monthly client billing and reporting requirements; Managing expense and credit card reconciliations; Preparing, amending and managing court documents and briefs; Assisting with document preparation, including lists of documents and other quasi-paralegal tasks; Assisting in organising conferences and events; Coordinating domestic and interstate travel arrangements; and Maintaining the team’s client relationship management system (Dynamics 365). Experience To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of three years’ experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally within a litigation or construction environment. You will be highly organised, proactive, and take pride in delivering exceptional support to your team. You will also demonstrate: A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative; Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders; Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines; Meticulous attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality; A collaborative and team-focused approach, building strong relationships across the firm; Strong technical skills and confidence using legal and practice management systems; and A genuine commitment to supporting your partners and broader team.
