About the Role We are seeking skilled and motivated Electricians to join our Mackay workshop. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the electrical installation, wiring, fit out, testing and pre commissioning of prefabricated switchrooms, skids and transportable electrical units. These roles are offered on a fixed term contract basis for an initial period of three to six months, with opportunities to extend for the right candidates. Occasional site support may be required. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: • Install, wire and terminate electrical systems in switchrooms, skids and prefabricated enclosures • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and scopes of work • Carry out testing, fault finding and pre commissioning prior to delivery • Work collaboratively with fabrication, boilermaker and carpentry teams to sequence tasks efficiently • Ensure all electrical work complies with AS3000, AS4871 and relevant Australian Standards • Maintain tools, test equipment and workshop machinery • Complete service sheets, progress reports and required documentation • Support inspections, logistics and client handover activities as required • Follow WHS procedures, SWMS and risk assessments at all times About You To be successful in this role, you will have: • A relevant electrical trade qualification • A current QLD Electrical Licence or equivalent • A current Driver Licence • Experience in electrical installation and fit out within industrial, mining or modular environments • Strong knowledge of AS3000 and AS4871 • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics • Strong fault finding and problem solving skills • Good communication skills and the ability to work across multiple trades • A strong safety and quality focus The following tickets are advantageous but not essential: • Forklift • EWP • Confined space What NEPEAN Power Can Offer • Modern workshop environment with strong safety standards • Initial three to six month fixed term employment with opportunities to extend • Supportive team culture and strong cross trade collaboration • Career development and ongoing training opportunities within the NEPEAN Group • Access to Employee Assistance Program • Fully funded PPE and uniforms If you are an electrician looking to expand your skills in a specialised electrical manufacturing environment, we encourage you to apply.
