About the role Just Automotive Recruitment is searching for a qualified Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of buses in a quality-focused, safety-driven workshop. Duties Carry out general servicing, repairs and maintenance on a fleet of buses Perform standard ABC servicing in line with maintenance schedules Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults with a fixed-first-time focus Work across a range of systems including: Engines, driveline and chassis Braking and suspension systems Air conditioning and hydraulics Electrical, door and safety systems (including flashing light systems) Support senior technicians and leading hands as required Rectify defects identified by drivers and the Fleet & Asset Controller Ensure buses are returned to service safely, reliably and efficiently Maintain a clean, organized and safe workshop environment Occasionally assist with parking, refueling and moving buses within the depot Follow all safety, compliance and workplace procedures Skills and experience Qualified Heavy Vehicle or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic (or equivalent) Experience servicing and repairing buses, trucks or heavy vehicles Sound fault-finding and diagnostic skills Exposure to Volvo and Mercedes vehicles highly regarded (but not essential) Good understanding of mechanical systems; exposure to electrical, body or auxiliary systems is an advantage Ability to work methodically with a strong focus on quality rather than speed MR license preferred; HR license highly regarded Strong teamwork and communication skills Reliable, safety-focused and takes pride in workmanship Benefits Competitive salary $$ Monday to Friday role – no nights, no weekends Core hours 6:30am – 5:30pm with flexibility; 40 hours per week standard Occasional on-call and breakdown work only How to Apply If you are interested in joining a successful business for this fantastic full-time position, please send us your resume today.
