The key duties of the position include The Role As an APS 5 Payroll Officer, you will provide technical support to develop people capability and provide timely and accurate payroll outcomes to Defence customers. You will: Investigate and resolve complex payroll matters, interpreting and providing advice within established pay and conditions legislation, policy and processes. Enjoy facilitating training of others and able to adjust your communication style to suit others' capability levels and learning styles. Research and analyse data to identify risks and opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Review and develop the quality of work others undertake and provide coaching and constructive feedback. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to review policy and system changes, configuration design documents and participate in user acceptance testing. Have excellent attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills to support sensitive inquires and information requests. Be flexible and resilient and able to pivot quickly to meet competing priorities at short notice.
