Automation Test Consultant – Insurance (Selenium, Playwright, Guidewire, API) Sydney or Melbourne | Hybrid Tarkine Consulting is supporting a a major insurance program on multiple, long-running technology programs across claims and digital platforms. As part of this work, were looking to engage several Automation Test Consultants with backgrounds insurance to join established delivery teams working across various areas including Guidewire and Duck Creek environments. These roles span a small number of aligned programs, including core claims platform initiatives and embedded digital squads. While the delivery context varies slightly, all roles are hands-on and focused on building reliable, scalable automation. The role Youll contribute to end-to-end testing across various insurance platforms and LOBs, with a strong emphasis on automation and quality engineering. Responsibilities typically include: Designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites Executing functional, regression, system, and UAT testing Automating UI and API test coverage across critical insurance journeys Working with automation frameworks such as Playwright, TestCafe, or Selenium Integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines Collaborating closely with developers, BAs, and delivery leads Logging, managing, and driving defects through to resolution The balance between automation engineering and functional testing will vary by stream, but all roles are delivery-focused and require hands-on contribution. What were looking for 2-5 years experience in automation or blended automation/functional testing roles Hands-on experience with Guidewire (ClaimsCenter, PolicyCenter, or BillingCenter) Experience with one or more automation tools, including: Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript TestCafe with JavaScript Selenium (Java or JavaScript) API testing experience using tools such as Postman or similar Strong understanding of Agile delivery and STLC Comfortable working in hybrid environment with 3 days a week on client site Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Xray, Cucumber, or AI-assisted testing tools is beneficial but not essential.
