Manager Regulatory Engagement, Business Banking Compliance Your business Business Banking Compliance sits within the Group Compliance Line 2 function at CommBank. The team partners closely with Business Banking Line 1, support and central compliance teams to manage and advise on Business Banking regulatory engagements, implement regulatory change, and embed the Compliance Management Framework, while enabling good customer outcomes and business success through practical advice and the provision of independent monitoring and assurance. Your team Business Banking Compliance is a high-performing, collaborative team of solution-focused professionals who enable strong business outcomes. We provide expert advice and oversight across regulatory and compliance risk, product design and distribution, issue and incident management, governance reporting to senior management and the Board, and manage Regulatory Affairs. Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Affairs, the Manager Regulatory Engagement plays a key role, working closely with business partners and regulators, supporting Senior Managers in Regulatory Affairs. Regulatory Affairs sits alongside Compliance Advisory and Compliance Strategy within Business Banking Compliance, manages all Business Banking regulatory engagements with Australian Financial Services regulators, including State and Territory regulators, and CommBank’s engagements with the RBA. Key responsibilities of this role include: Building effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and regulators, with guidance from senior team members. Supporting Business Banking Line 1 teams to coordinate and deliver information requested by regulators. Assisting with proactive and transparent engagement with regulators including ASIC, APRA, BCCC, RBA and ACCC. Supporting engagements with state and territory-based authorities governing statutory trust accounts relevant to specific professions. Drafting and coordinating regulatory submissions and responses, including ASIC Reportable Situations and regulatory enquiries, under appropriate supervision. Working closely with Regulatory Legal teams and other internal partners on regulatory matters. Preparing clear summaries, analysis and supporting materials for senior stakeholders. Helping ensure regulatory communications are accurate, consistent and aligned with organisational standards. Supporting Business Banking teams with guidance on regulatory obligations and engagement approaches. Maintaining accurate records of regulatory interactions, commitments and outcomes. Assisting with regulatory reporting and governance materials for Board and Executive committees. Contributing to a collaborative team environment and developing regulatory capability over time. Your skills & experience We’re looking for a motivated and adaptable team player who brings the following skills and experience: Around 5 years’ experience supporting regulatory or compliance activities within a regulated environment. Experience assisting with regulatory submissions and responses, including ASIC Reportable Situations and regulatory enquiries. Exposure to working with internal stakeholders and regulators, ideally within Financial Services or Business Banking. Strong written communication skills, with attention to detail. Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Sound judgement, with the ability to seek guidance and escalate issues where appropriate. A working knowledge of ASIC, APRA, BCCC, RBA and ACCC, including an understanding of their roles, regulatory expectations and requirements within the Australian financial services environment.
