Job Description YOUR ROLE Reporting to the General Manager, Risk, Compliance and Assurance, the Manager, Risk leads a team of Risk Advisors and oversees MACS’ risk management activities, ensuring they align with MACS2030, legal obligations, and best practice. This role drives the continual improvement of risk management maturity, emergency management, and business continuity planning across MACS, providing specialist advice to senior stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Team and Board Committees. WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead and manage the delivery of MACS-wide risk management and emergency management programs. Provide strategic risk advice and analysis to senior leaders, Board Committees, and the Executive Leadership Team. Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework. Foster a strong risk culture and lead training, education and awareness initiatives. Support schools and directorates in identifying, assessing, and managing operational and strategic risks. Oversee emergency and business continuity planning, testing and review. Manage risk reporting, risk registers, and regulatory engagement with a focus on quality and timeliness. ABOUT YOU Tertiary qualification in risk, governance, or a related discipline (or equivalent applied experience). Minimum 8 years of risk management experience, including at least 2 years in a people leadership role. Experience in both enterprise risk management and emergency management functions. Knowledge of ISO31000 and ISO22320 standards. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience reporting at Board level. Strong project management, organisational and analytical skills. Membership of RMIA or similar professional body (desirable). Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle.
