Position Overview : A minimum of 10 yrs experience as an Architectural Draughtsman with specialised self-storage experience. Experience leading a team of Drafters. Revit experience is essential. Ability to work autonomously & in a team environment. High attention to detail. The role will assume overall accountability for the delivery of assigned works. Complete projects in line with the client/stakeholder expectations of time, quality and budget. Promote a professional working relationship at all times with client and project stakeholders. Identify where possible, value-add opportunities for the project. Liaise with relevant external authorities and project stakeholders. Roles & Responsibilities : Develop detailed briefs in conjunction with the client at project inception and coordinate all design requirements. Prepare preliminary sketches, council approval documents, construction drawings and specifications as per Clients brief. Commitment to attaining a comprehensive knowledge of the self-storage requirements, systems and installation process of the propriety fit out products. Co-ordinate and incorporate all consultants and Authority requirements into designs and documentation. Liaise with relevant Authorities to determine their requirements for DA & BA and manage the process of obtaining these, including the submission of all documentation to the building certifier. Inspect all documents and drawings (internal and external) for design content prior to distribution. Liaise with construction consultants/clients to ensure design is understood and delivered in accordance with requirements. This includes on-going project support. Attend meetings as requested. Attend site during the project construction phase and assist the construction team in the clarification and resolution of design and construction issues. Administer, program and assess the work of any required consultants and suppliers in accordance with project design requirements. Inspect all documents and drawings (internal and external) for design content prior to distribution. Liaise with construction contractors to ensure design is understood and delivered in accordance with requirements. - Attend meetings as requested. Skills and experience : Tertiary qualification together with 10 years of experience. Proficient knowledge in Revit and general Microsoft applications. A strong understanding and experience of the Self Storage industry. Attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to run multiple projects concurrently. Personable and able to interact constructively with clients and consultants. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Commitment to OHS and quality. Proven experience in similar role. This is a full time position. Remuneration of $100,000 - $150,000 will be offered to the successful candidate depending on experience.
