The Opportunity This is your chance to act as a conduit between the business and PMO team for significant ICT programs within a high-performing branch that is delivering real impact. As Program Manager, you’ll guide the planning, governance, and execution of a portfolio that spans data, technology, and service delivery reforms. This role is ideal for someone ready to step into an EL1 leadership position, shape program direction, and manage complex projects with visibility across the agency. You will be well-placed to move into an EL2 role in the near future after getting exposure to the role. The Role You’ll provide strategic oversight and lead end-to-end program delivery within the Investment and Portfolio Management Office. You’ll also play a key role in embedding continuous improvement, innovation, and project delivery standards across the division. This includes: Driving alignment between project execution and broader organisational strategy Provide oversight of risk management, assurance, and compliance Shape and implement long-term program planning and resourcing strategies Report on program performance to internal and external stakeholders Lead and coordinate complex ICT programs across multiple projects Collaborate with senior leaders, SROs and vendors to align delivery to strategic goals Mentor and support project managers and delivery teams Oversee use of specialist service providers and assess proposals Monitor program spend, outcomes, and alignment to investment goals The Ideal Person You are an experienced EL1 project or delivery manager ready to step confidently into program-level leadership. With a strong track record managing multiple concurrent projects across business and ICT teams, you’re well-placed to move into an EL2 role in the near future. You bring proven experience delivering digital projects within complex government environments, with a strong ability to bridge business and technology priorities to drive aligned outcomes. Confident in managing senior stakeholders and vendors, you apply sound judgment, governance knowledge, and risk management skills to navigate ambiguity and deliver results.
