The role: The Mobile Threat Training Emitter System (MTTES) provides Electronic Warfare (EW) training services to the Australian Defence Force in Queensland and the Northern Territory, and other deployed locations across Australia. We operate and sustain a diverse range of EW systems and associated networks and software to deliver the required training outcomes. As the Environment, Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor for MTTES you will be passionate about contributing with every interaction and making a difference to our health, safety and wellbeing culture. You will report to the MTTES Program Director and be responsible for the day-to-day effectiveness and implementation of Raytheon's EHS&W Management system, by partnering with and understanding the unique needs of the program, broader organisation and customer. You will assist in the provision of sustainable work by targeting best practice levels of safety and legislative compliance in an environment of continuous improvement. This is role involves providing advice, coordination and activities across all levels of business operations, and partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders on environment, health, safety & wellbeing matters. You will fold your operational insights and investigative findings into our EHSW Management System and projects to create a healthy and safe operating rhythm and feedback loop. Key responsibilities: Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including health & safety representatives, varied workgroups, customer representatives and sub-contractors. Achieving and maintaining compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Act and relevant jurisdictional requirements. Contribute to and facilitate implementation of policies, plans, procedures and processes, including high quality reporting and records management. Support and facilitate the application of the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control process at the working level, in a manner that supports the specific operational needs of the jurisdiction. Partner with leaders and managers to proactively respond to environment, health, safety and wellbeing issues before and as they arise, including undertaking investigations following incidents or occurrences to determine likely causes, corrective actions and improvement opportunities and control effectiveness. Proactively promote and coordinate program engagement processes and initiatives to deliver the company's Environment, Health and Safety Plan. Advise, participate in and support internal and external audit programs and inspections. Other duties as deemed relevant to program and operational requirements and within the technical competency of the position Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Requires a University Degree in Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline, or equivalent experience (desirable) Certificate IV (or higher) in Work Health and Safety (essential) Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (desirable) 'C' Class Driver's license (essential) Senior First Aid certificate (essential) Technical writing skills (essential) Demonstrated experience consulting with stakeholders in a matrix environment (essential) Experience with Power BI, excel, databases or data analytics (desired) Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Security clearance as needed.
