About the Opportunities We have multiple full-time positions available for both a Chef and a Cook within our bustling commercial kitchen. These are hands-on roles where you will be essential in creating the dishes that define our reputation. You will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the seamless operation of your section. Key Duties & Responsibilities For the Chef Role: Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies. Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation. Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, including Cooks and Apprentices. Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on procedures. Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to specification. Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards. Manage stock control and oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef. Discuss food preparation with Managers and service staff. For the Cook Role: Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality and regulate cooking equipment temperatures. Prepare, cook, and present a variety of foods, including sauces, meats, seafood, and vegetables. Portion food, add gravies/sauces, and garnish meals to meet high presentation standards. Store food correctly in temperature-controlled facilities. Maintain an impeccably clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety standards. Work collaboratively to ensure timely service. Skills & Experience Required For Chef: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. A relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, or Certificate IV (or equivalent). Proven leadership and team coordination skills. Excellent communication and time management. For Cook: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen. A relevant AQF Certificate IV (or equivalent) is required. Strong foundational cooking skills and knowledge. For Both Roles: Demonstrated ability to perform the key duties listed above. In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. An unwavering commitment to food safety, hygiene, and quality.
