About the role As an Education Support Officer in Nursing, you’ll help students build confidence as they learn new concepts and practical skills. You’ll support learners one‑on‑one and in small groups, offering guidance, encouragement, and simple follow‑up instruction that keeps them engaged and progressing. Working closely with Teachers, you’ll bring tutoring plans to life across both face‑to‑face and online environments. You’ll also lend a hand with basic documentation and day‑to‑day tasks that keep the section running smoothly. From time to time, you may travel locally to support students while they’re on placement. This temporary part‑time role is a great way to experience working with TAFE—whether you’re exploring a future in education or looking to balance this work alongside your nursing career. Note: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment. About You You enjoy helping others succeed and can explain ideas in a clear, friendly, and practical way. You thrive in an adult learning environment and feel confident motivating students from all backgrounds as they work through their Nursing studies. Building strong relationships comes naturally to you, and you take pride in contributing to a team that puts learners first. You’re also comfortable with technology, using tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Teams or Zoom to support students both on campus and online. You communicate well, show initiative, and bring a calm, organised approach to your work—making you a valued part of the teaching team. We are looking for motivated and engaged individuals who have the ability to meet the following selection criteria: Diploma (or above) in Nursing, with current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse highly regarded Ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline. High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner. Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students. Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team. Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
