About the Role - As a Residential Care Officer, you will provide day-to-day care, supervision, and support while empowering clients to develop independence, resilience, and life skills. You’ll work closely with families, community services, and government agencies to deliver holistic, person-centred care. Key Responsibilities Provide safe, supportive, and structured care in residential settings Assess client needs and develop, implement, and review care and support plans Support clients with emotional, social, financial, educational, and health-related challenges Monitor progress and maintain accurate case notes and reports Assist young people to address behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties Refer clients to appropriate health, welfare, housing, employment, and community services Liaise with families, community groups, welfare agencies, and government bodies Assess community needs and promote awareness of available services Support families and provide education and care for children and disabled persons Supervise offenders on probation or parole (where applicable) Prepare reports, funding submissions, and documentation for government and other agencies About You Qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, Disability, Social Work, or related field (or relevant experience) Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, or people with disabilities Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills Compassionate, resilient, and able to manage challenging situations calmly Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and overnight shifts Current Working With Children Check, Police Check, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain) Why Join Carewell Healthcare?
