About the role This position is responsible for delivering quality procurement and contracting management practices across the City to achieve best value for money by supporting the City’s procurement and contract functions, providing high‑standard advice and strategic input as the subject matter expert, and partnering with departments to align their procurement needs with compliance requirements and best‑practice sourcing strategies. Salary package starting at: $83,189.67 Duties Key responsibilities include: Support the administration of the City’s Procurement and Contract Management Framework and purchasing strategies to ensure compliance with legislation, policy and best practice. Partner with departments to develop compliant, innovative and value‑for‑money sourcing strategies and forecast procurement needs. Coordinate end‑to‑end procurement activities, including market assessments, market engagement (quotes, tenders, EOIs), evaluations, contract awarding and supplier performance management. Provide strategic procurement advice, guidance, coaching and education to internal stakeholders, promoting consistent application of procurement principles and the City’s procurement strategy. Establish and implement contracts in accordance with legislation and policy, and support negotiation strategies with departments. Assist with developing supplier KPIs and apply effective contract management principles to drive performance and minimise organisational risk. Deliver procurement and contracting services that reduce expenditure, uphold probity, and support budget development through market insights and forecasting. Comply with WHS, Risk Management and Records Management obligations. Provide high‑level customer service to internal and external stakeholders and model the City’s values of Accountability, Collaboration, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Transparency and Excellence. Perform other duties aligned with skills and knowledge as required. Who we are Looking for: To be considered for this position, you will need: Tertiary qualifications in a procurement related discipline and /or similar capacity. Local Government experience or willingness to acquire experience in Procurement and Contract Management in a local government setting.
