The Rapid Response Team Leader (Local Laws) leads a dynamic field team dedicated to protecting the safety, amenity, and liveability of the City of Logan. In this fast‑paced role, you will guide and mentor officers, coordinate proactive and reactive enforcement activities, and ensure accurate, timely responses to community issues. You will oversee investigations into abandoned vehicles (unregistered, burnt out and wrecked), unlawfully placed temporary signage and schedule the collection of abandoned shopping trolleys, and other local law breaches, while building strong relationships with residents, businesses, and partner agencies. With a focus on customer service, leadership, and legislative compliance, you will drive high performance, support continuous improvement, and represent Council with professionalism. This role suits a confident leader who has the ability to remain calm under pressure, communicates effectively and possesses strong investigative skills, sound judgem ent, and a passion for community wellbeing. Position responsibilities include: Lead and support the Rapid Response Taskforce to deliver high‑quality, efficient compliance services. Build a positive, accountable team culture and mentor staff. Prioritise workloads, allocate tasks and oversee operational efficiency. Manage impounded goods and vehicles, proactive enforcement programs, and complex investigations. Issue compliance and progress corrective actions whilst working collaboratively with agencies such as retailers, Police, Transport and Housing. Provide clear, consistent customer service and handle complaints professionally and promptly. Build strong community relationships and support education initiatives. Apply legislation accurately to make sound, evidence‑based decisions. Conduct inspections, gather evidence, and represent Council in court when required. Champion workplace health, safety, and wellbeing. Key indicators for success: Strong leadership skills with experience supervising, coaching and mentoring teams. Ability to plan and deliver targeted enforcement operations. Solid understanding of key legislation and Council Local Laws. Skilled in investigations, evidence gathering, lawful entry and enforcement decision‑ Excellent judgement, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities. Confident using digital systems, software, and mobile technology. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Management or Government Investigations (or equivalent experience) highly regarded.
