Our Sydney-based Structured Lending Solutions ("SLS") team leads the Mid-Market Financial Sponsor ("MMFS") activity within Australia. Working closely with the Corporate and Institutional Banking ("CIB") Global Large Corporate ("GC") and International Mid-Market ("IMM") relationship teams, our SLS business helps originate and execute event and complex lending opportunities for our Australia & New Zealand CIB client base. This includes both public and private companies and covers some of Australia's largest and most iconic names as well as earlier stage, higher growth corporates. The Structured Lending Solutions team works across both Corporate and Leveraged transactions and taking on this role as an Analyst or Associate, will provide you with an unparalleled range of transaction experience, whilst also delivering exposure to a wide array of transaction structures. As part of your role, you will work closely with other members of the Structured Lending Solutions team to support Relationship Managers across Australia and New Zealand, a range of capital financing specialists including the Leveraged, Acquisition and Syndicated Finance team as well as local and regional risk colleagues. Reporting directly to the Head of Structured Lending Solutions for Australia and New Zealand, this exciting role, will value your corporate credit skills and demonstrated experience in a transaction execution team. Your main responsibilities will include: Acting alongside colleagues in the Structured Lending Solutions team as a complex credit and debt specialist for the CIB business to assist Relationship Managers in the origination and execution of corporate event and other complex lending transactions, including acquisition and cross-border funding structures. Providing support to deliver HSBC's Australian mid-market and global financial sponsor proposition - including coverage of existing inbound global and regional priority sponsors, plus a select group of domestic private equity houses. Working with CIB and Risk colleagues in constructing appropriate responses to complex lending-related consent requests and stress lending exposures, including alternate funding approaches. Positioning as a CIB conduit to capital financing specialists, particularly in relation to Leverage & Acquisition Finance and Debt Capital Markets teams, to ensure excellent lending-led solutions for our corporate clients. Serving as a centre of excellence to assist with technical skill development across the broader CIB business. Support transaction activity of the Structured Lending Solutions team by driving conflict check requirements, as well as information controls and compliance. Taking responsibility for portfolio credit monitoring of various mid-market financial sponsor-backed exposures. To be successful in this role, you will need: Relevant experience in corporate banking, accounting or finance with demonstrated track record in writing comprehensive yet concise financial analyses, as well as the construction of content-focused pitch books. Ability to review, understand and summarise corporate financial statements as part of a wider credit and lending viability assessments. Proficiency in building and adapting financial models for corporate and event lending scenarios. An awareness of company valuation, capital structuring and external ratings methodologies. Exposure to structuring and negotiating legal documentation. An ability to manage to tight timelines. Superior attention to detail and a desire to deliver consistent high-quality output to achieve a market-leading reputation. Ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations through superior customer service. A degree in Finance, Business or Accountancy-related disciplines. Related post graduate qualifications such as CFA or Masters of Applied Finance will be highly regarded but not essential. Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
