Simplot Global Food's NW Tasmania operations employ over 750 local staff and span the frozen potato product (Ulverstone) and frozen vegetable (Devonport) categories, annually processing over 350,000 tonnes of freshly grown Tasmanian produce into the products that Australian families have loved & enjoyed for generations. Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, this integral site-based role will form a key part of Simplot Global Food's focus on training & development of our current and future manufacturing based workforce. Based at our NW Tasmania manufacturing sites, the Training Operations Specialist is the focal point for all site based training activities. What You Will Do Forming part of a Global Food Operations Training & Capability team, the Training Operations Specialist's duties / responsibilities will include; Enhance employee performance by coordinating, managing and implementing standardised on-the-job training programs in collaboration with operational Area Managers / Team Leaders Provide subject matter expertise to support creation of training materials / standard work instructions Implement operational leader programs Facilitate 'Train the Trainer' and group training programs Investigate and coordinate the use of 3rd-party vendors as required e.g TAFE / RTO / Group Training providers for apprenticeships Monitor & manage training KPIs Maintain training records / employee progress within LMS Contribute to global training initiatives / team projects Support new hire orientation by providing expertise on LMS / new starter training requirements Work closely with the Training Operations Coordinator in ensuring all training systems are monitored and maintained Contribute to all functional and site Safety & Continuous Improvement initiatives About You Bringing a demonstrated background in operational training, manufacturing or process related roles, in this professional role - the successful candidate will possess the following attributes; A 100% commitment to safety, health and wellbeing in the workplace Cert IV Training & Assessment, or equivalent - mandatory Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and drive training plans / timelines A sound understanding of Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Learning Management System expertise - noting Simplot utilise SAP Success Factors Experience in working with an operations / manufacturing focused group of stakeholders Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing methodology will be advantageous A high level of both written & verbal communication skills in a professional capacity Ability to collaborate with a wide demographic of stakeholders, from factory-based production employees to functional leadership & external vendors / providers Please click on the "Apply" button to submit your application, ensuring a covering letter outlining your suitability for the role AND an up-to-date resume are included (noting that you will be redirected to the Simplot Careers portal).
