The business undertakes direct procurement from India and Sri Lanka to ensure product authenticity, consistency and quality. All products are packed in accordance with Australian Food Safety Standards. Grace Oz Grocery services a multicultural customer base and focuses on efficient store operations, effective inventory and staff management, customer service and compliance. Key Responsibilities Determine the appropriate product mix and stock levels for an Asian grocery store, ensuring availability of imported grocery items sourced from India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Fiji, Mauritius, Nepal and Pakistan, while maintaining service standards for a multicultural customer base Formulate and implement purchasing and pricing policies, including direct procurement from overseas suppliers in India and Sri Lanka, to ensure product authenticity, consistency, quality and commercial viability Plan and coordinate in-store promotions and product displays for packaged grocery items, dry goods and specialty food products to support sales and customer accessibility Sell grocery products to customers and provide advice on product selection and use, including cultural food preferences, ingredients and preparation methods, and respond to customer enquiries and complaints in line with store policies Monitor, record and maintain stock levels, expiry dates, rotation and financial transactions to support inventory control, reduce wastage and ensure accurate reporting Prepare and manage operational budgets for the grocery store, including purchasing costs, freight, spoilage control and general operating expenses Recruit, train and supervise retail staff, including cash handling, customer service, stock handling and food safety practices, to maintain performance and service standards Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, Australian food safety standards and retail regulatory obligations, including safe handling, storage and labelling of imported food products Qualifications A qualification in Retail Management, Business or a related field is desirable.
