About the Role This position is responsible for the strategic leadership, planning and delivery of community and social services that support the wellbeing, safety and long term outcomes of the Kowanyama community. As a key member of the Executive Management Team, the Executive Manager Community Services contributes to organisational strategy, operational planning and financial governance, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Council. This position is based in Kowanyama. Responsibilities Provide executive leadership across all community and social services, ensuring culturally appropriate, community driven and outcomes focused service delivery. Lead strategic planning, operational delivery and continuous improvement of complex community services aligned to Council priorities. Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, Elders, government agencies and service partners. Ensure effective governance, compliance, risk management and accountability across all delegated programs and funding agreements. Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a safe, respectful and high performing workplace culture. Skills and Experience Required Tertiary qualification in Social Services, Community Management, Human Services or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Senior leadership experience in community services, social services or human services, with proven capability in strategic planning, operational leadership and financial oversight. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a community driven environment, with experience in remote or regional settings highly regarded. Experience managing grant funded programs, service agreements and compliance frameworks, particularly within complex community service portfolios. Current C Class Drivers Licence and the ability to obtain and maintain a Police Clearance and Blue Card.
