Full Time / Temporary (7 months) Location – Proserpine $81,881 to $87,557 per annum THE OPPORTUNITY: Due to internal movement, a unique opportunity exists for a Rates Officer to join the team in a temporary capacity for a period of seven (7) months. In this role, you will analyse information and resolve issues through investigating service requests or billing queries. YOUR IMPACT: As a Rates Officer, you will provide technical support and maintenance advice, along with processing rates, water billing and customer enquiries. You will apply good judgement and initiative in addressing administrative or customer service challenges and work well within a team environment, whilst often completing tasks independently. Data and Records Management: Maintain and update essential property, rates, water meter and billing information within Council’s management systems. Problem solving: Investigate and process service requests accurately through Council’s record and information management systems. Customer and Stakeholder Support: Provide advice, support and professional information to the Coordinator and stakeholders regarding rates, property data, water billing, applications, amendments and enquiries. Reporting and Communication: Prepare reports, correspondence, templates and responses to customer service requests, including telephone enquiries and written communication. Financial and Recovery Processing: Process financial actions such as direct debit applications, payment arrangements, journals/adjustments, and actions for recovery of rate arrears. WHAT YOU BRING: Experience: Working in Government and/or familiarity with Local Government operations is beneficial. Technical Skills: Good computer skills, particularly with Microsoft programs.
