Description The Mogalakwena Mine in Limpopo, South Africa, is one of Anglo American's globally significant platinum projects. Redpath, in partnership with Redpath Mining South Africa, undertakes decline development and site setup to support mine expansion. Redpath's work at Mogalakwena commenced with portal construction within the existing open pit and includes developing a 3,000m long, 6m x 5.5m exploration decline, along with site facilities and electrical infrastructure. The decline development required precise blasting and ground support and included the development of diamond drill cuddies. Responsibilities Working a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off roster. FIFO from any major city in Australia or New Zealand. Interpretation of stope charge plans and efficient and accurate charge of production holes. Ensure safe, effective, and productive operation of the charge rig. Training and mentoring of national charge up crew. Ensuring machinery used are cleaned and presented for service regularly Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience of emulsion downhole stope charging. Experience with Normet charge rigs. Ability to train and guide national operators in best charging practices. A positive work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto, Consider it done— safely. Experience with electronic blasting systems (Daveytronic, Ikon etc.)
