ABOUT THE ROLEIn this hands‑on technical role, you will support a major program of technology migration and network expansion across a large, mission‑critical environment. Working closely with engineering teams and field technicians, you’ll assist with network‑wide hardware and software upgrades, integration and decommissioning of site hardware, and the commissioning of PSN systems. You’ll play a key role in validating that upgraded services meet operational specifications, while actively monitoring and maintaining the integrity of the Managed Radio Network throughout the rollout. Success in this position relies on strong communication and coordination skills, as you’ll liaise with engineers, field teams, suppliers, and customers to effectively manage SLAs and ensure a smooth and reliable deployment. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: To develop and maintain a coordinated work schedule together with the service installer, the TA and BAI to support a smooth transition onto new services To work closely with Level 2 Engineers, taking an active role in the support of configuration and verification testing and operational acceptance of new network components To become proficient in the use and understanding of MPLS monitoring and configuration. Nokia and Cisco router management, support, fault restoration and configuration Link and connectivity management/support – Working with link suppliers to resolve issues and faults To be able to diagnose and address faults in both staging and production environments To become proficient in the use of incumbent and new PSN Network Management Systems To become proficient in the use of established Incident and Change Management Systems and processes To prepare reports on progress, Review documents provided by the 3rd party suppliers relating to the network upgrade. Ensuring technical compliance. Update documentation, BAI and NSW TA systems to reflect network changes To complete Analysis, Alarm management and Planned Outage training Coordination with Field Staff, service suppliers and end-users on incidences and planned works Undertake all activities in line with the BA Group OHS Policy Document Provide instruction and guidelines to Subcontractors, as required ABOUT YOU Trained to a minimum of ITIL Foundation standard. Functional and technical knowledge of telecommunications networks and in particular, wide area P25 Trunked Radio and PMR networks is required Experience with IP or MPLS based networks a plus Good ability to review documentation and test results against test criteria Demonstrable capability and experience in project management and scheduling Advanced technical writing and technical document assessment/review skills This role requires on-site attendance five days a week and is unable to be performed remotely or from home due to the nature of the role.
