The key duties of the position include The Role The Work Health and Safety Officer will work within the Brigade Headquarters providing specialist Work Health and Safety (WHS) advice to the Commander of 13th Brigade, Headquarters 13th Brigade staff and subordinate units to ensure compliance and a safe working environment. The role requires sound knowledge of WHS legislation, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The WHS Officer is required to monitor compliance with relevant WHS legislation, safety policy and directives, manage the implementation of Defence and Army initiatives within the Brigade, and exercise technical control of all safety management. You may also be responsible for conducting quick assessments on training and facilities related incidents, be involved in technical and WHS investigations and audits and assist with hazardous substance management requirements.
