The key duties of the position include This role involves leading and developing a high-performing team by building capability, setting clear priorities, and creating opportunities for learning and delegation. It includes providing strong stewardship of aged care reforms through local engagement, developing an in-depth understanding of community contexts, and representing the Department at stakeholder forums. The position supports effective policy and program delivery by supplying timely local intelligence, data, and insights on emerging issues and implementation challenges. A strong focus is placed on ensuring national policies are responsive to diverse community needs, including those of First Nations peoples. The role requires building and maintaining trusted relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including older people, families, providers, peak bodies, and sector partners. It also involves managing and supporting change in a dynamic environment, and delivering high-quality responses to Ministerial correspondence, briefings, and other requests within strict timeframes.
