Purpose of the Role As part of a newly awarded state-wide government services contract, this newly created Transaction Manager role supports the delivery of property transactions across a diverse portfolio. Working closely with client agencies, landlords and BGIS operational teams, you will coordinate lease-related activities including renewals, variations, relocations, acquisitions, disposals and make good processes. The role ensures transactions are delivered accurately, on time and in line with contractual requirements, while maintaining clear communication and high-quality documentation. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex processes, values collaboration, and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, well-governed outcomes. Key Responsibilities - Manage property transaction activities including lease renewals, expiries, variations, relocations, acquisitions and disposals - Prepare transaction briefs, documentation, supporting analysis and approval materials - Lead lease negotiations and coordinate make good assessments and delivery - Ensure all transactions follow agreed processes, timelines and governance requirements - Liaise with client agencies, landlords, BGIS Property Managers and operational teams - Maintain accurate transaction records, approvals and documentation within BGIS systems - Support transaction reporting, portfolio insights and governance packs using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric - Identify opportunities to improve transaction workflows and support digital enablement initiatives Education, Experience & Skills Essential: - Qualifications in property, real estate, commerce or a related discipline - Experience executing lease negotiations and property coordination - Understanding of lease processes, make good principles and transaction workflows - Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail - Clear, respectful communication and stakeholder engagement skills - Confidence using digital systems and data to support efficient outcomes Desirable: - Experience working across large or government property portfolios - Exposure to portfolio reporting, governance processes or FM environments - Interest in digital improvement, automation or process optimisation Workplace Flexibility This role is based in BGIS' Melbourne CBD office, close to public transport.
