Our client is a well-established food manufacturing business based in Melbourne’s South-East and is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing / Procurement Officer to join their team on an ongoing full-time hours basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has strong attention to detail, excellent supplier communication skills, and experience managing materials for production. Reporting to the Procurement & Inventory Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely ordering, forecasting, and availability of raw materials, packaging, and consumables to support production schedules. Key responsibilities include: Managing purchasing activities based on stocktakes, forecasts, and production requirements Placing and following up purchase orders, including long lead-time materials Supporting production planning from a procurement perspective Maintaining accurate stock on hand, cost masters, and procurement system data Managing price changes, supplier agreements, and assisting with stocktake analysis Working closely with Production, QA, and Inventory teams to ensure food safety, HACCP, and quality requirements are met To be successful in this role, you will have: Proven experience as a Purchasing or Procurement Officer, ideally within food manufacturing Experience using procurement or supply chain systems Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills Strong communication and stakeholder management skills A team-focused attitude with a willingness to support broader business need.
