The Role: Reporting to the Head of Dealer Operations, the Business Development Manager plays a key role in growing Viva Energy’s retail fuel footprint. This role suits a proactive, commercially minded hunter who thrives on securing new opportunities, building strategic partnerships and driving network growth in a highly competitive market. Responsibilities: Identification, evaluation and acquisition of new retail fuel site opportunities. Negotiation of dealer agreements aligned to commercial and brand standards. Market, customer and competitor analysis to support growth decisions. Collaboration with property, operations, sales and customer solutions to deliver new business opportunities on time and within budget. Strong relationship management with new and existing dealers to maximise trust, performance and long-term retention. Support across pricing, volume and margin strategies. Compliance oversight across safety, brand and operational standards. Financial modelling, forecasting and development of business cases. CRM and data analytics use (Salesforce preferred) to manage pipeline visibility and reporting. Contribution to national initiatives including EV charging, convenience retail and food partnerships. Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, operations and supply chain teams to optimise site performance. About You: Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to negotiate complex agreements. Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. Analytical skills with financial modelling capability. Strong project management and organisational skills. Experience in retail fuel, energy or FMCG (advantageous). Ability to influence without authority and collaborate across diverse teams. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing or similar (preferred). 5 years’ experience in business development, retail or commercial sales. Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly.
