About The Position: The Early Childhood Teacher will lead the child development and learning component of SDN’s PlayLinks program. You will co-facilitate supported playgroups alongside a Social Worker, design engaging play-based learning experiences, and guide caregivers on strategies to promote children’s development and school readiness. PlayLinks is a Community and Family Support program funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), operating in Blacktown, Cumberland, and Parramatta LGAs. The program prioritises families with developmental concerns for their children, early diagnosis support, and those at risk of entering the child protection system. Key Responsibilities: · Co-facilitate supported playgroups across designated LGAs. · Plan and deliver playgroup sessions that provide safe, structured, and engaging play-based learning experiences for children aged 0–5 years. · Design intentional programming aligned with the NSW Early Years Learning Framework and family goals. · Observe children’s developmental progress and provide guidance to caregivers on age-appropriate strategies. · Model positive interactions and play-based approaches to support communication, social skills, and emotional regulation. · Maintain accurate records and contribute to DEX reporting for program accountability. · Collaborate with the Social Worker to integrate child-focused activities with family capacity-building goals. What We’re Looking For: · University qualifications in Early Childhood or relevant discipline. · Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver play-based programs for children aged 0–5 years. · Strong knowledge of child development, early literacy, numeracy, and school readiness. · Commitment to child safety and understanding of child protection practices and legislation. · Experience in coaching caregivers to strengthen play skills and address developmental concerns. · Ability to work with culturally diverse (CALD and Aboriginal) families and communities. · Excellent communication, relationship-building, and networking skills. · Current Working with Children Check (NSW), National Police Check, and driver’s licence.
