We’re looking for a strong, hands-on Production Manager to take full ownership of operations in a high-output, state of the art, Timber Manufacturing Facility based in Gilberton, QLD . This is a leadership role for someone who sets standards, leads from the front, and holds teams accountable for safety, quality, and performance. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role plays a key part in operational performance. Join a family-owned Australian timber manufacturer with over 30 years of industry experience. Supplying high-quality timber, pallets, and packaging solutions across Australia and internationally. You’ll be highly visible on the factory floor, driving results through people, planning, and disciplined execution. What You’ll Lead: Direct oversight of Machine Operators and Forklift Drivers to ensure safe, efficient material flow. Daily and weekly production planning to meet customer and commercial targets. A safety-first culture where standards are clear, followed, and enforced. Production teams through clear direction, coaching, and accountability. Efficient machine utilisation, staffing, and changeovers to minimise downtime. Operator capability through training, multi-skilling, and performance feedback. Ownership of labour efficiency, consumables and cost production control. About You: Proven Production Manager or senior leadership experience in timber or manufacturing (Mandatory). Confident, decisive leader who thrives on the floor, not behind a desk. Strong knowledge of WHS and industrial manufacturing environments. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and drive outcomes. Flexibility to support afternoon shifts and occasional weekend as required by production demand. Experience with Production Scheduling or ERP systems - Timber industry specific or similar.
