Skillforce Recruitment are currently seeking Forklift Operators / Yard Hands for our valued client based in Maddington. Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator / Yard Hands Tele-handlers to join our team. This dual-role position is essential for maintaining the efficient flow of materials and ensuring the yard and warehouse remain safe, clean, and organised. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift for various tasks and assisting with general manual labor and warehouse duties as required. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate forklifts (counterbalance, high-reach, etc.) to load, unload, and transport materials and finished products within the yard, warehouse, or facility. Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks, containers, and vehicles, ensuring all shipments are handled correctly and securely. Manage inventory by accurately locating, relocating, stacking, and organising goods in designated storage areas to optimize space and accessibility. Perform general yard and warehouse duties , including manual handling of materials (potentially up to 20kg repetitively), general cleaning, and assisting the wider team with various tasks. Conduct routine pre-start inspections and minor maintenance checks on the forklift and other equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation, reporting any faults or damage promptly. Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and company safety protocols, fostering a safety-first mindset at all times. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and completed tasks, potentially using inventory tracking or warehouse management systems (WMS). Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and drivers to ensure seamless operations and efficient workflow. Qualifications and Skills: Current and valid Forklift Licence (essential). Proven experience as a forklift operator in a fast-paced environment, such as a warehouse, factory, or timber/storage yard. Valid Tel handler Ticket and Experience Strong work ethic, reliability, and a proactive approach to safety. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A valid driver's licence is often required to commute to the job site.
