A permanent opportunity is available for an experienced Workshop Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established civil and infrastructure contractor based in Brooklyn. This is a Monday-Friday, workshop-based role supporting an internal fleet of civil plant, trucks and equipment. The role You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of mobile plant and vehicles used across civil and infrastructure projects. Key duties include: Servicing and preventative maintenance Scheduled inspections and planned maintenance Mechanical repairs, diagnostics and fault-finding Breakdown support as required Working across mechanical and hydraulic systems Workshop-based work with some site and breakdown support depending on workload The role is primarily workshop-based, with occasional site work when required. Machinery & equipment You'll be working across a broad range of equipment, including: Excavators, rollers, skid steers and civil plant Tip trucks, hook trucks and semi trucks Equipment from major OEM brands commonly used in civil construction Roster & hours Monday to Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm Occasional overtime before/after hours and Saturdays Rates & conditions Up to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience Paid under a current EBA Overtime paid at: 150% for the first 2 hours, 200% thereafter Saturday: 150% first 2 hours, 200% thereafter All work after 12pm Saturday paid at double time Sunday paid at double time Monthly RDO's What we're looking for Essential: Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic (Cert III Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant or equivalent) Experience working on mobile plant, trucks or civil equipment Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills Experience across mechanical and hydraulic systems Ability to work independently and within a small team Preferred: HR or HC licence Forklift or machinery tickets Why apply?
