This position supports the Bengalla Agricultural Company (BAC) Assistant Manager and team in all agriculture activities of the mixed farming operation. New Hope Group is currently seeking a Station Hand to work within its successful Bengalla Agricultural Company (BAC) - a farming, grazing and land management enterprise located near Muswellbrook. BAC works closely with its stakeholders to develop and operate sustainable farming practices including carbon projects and regenerative farming practices. This position is a permanent full-time position. About the Role: Reporting to the BAC Assistant Manager and part of a small team, you will be enthusiastic and motivated with an interest in working in mixed farming operation. You will support the BAC Assistant Manager and team in all agricultural activities. Accountabilities: Carry out the day-to-day operational aspects of all farming activities. Carry out the day-to-day operational aspects of the stock operations including handling cattle in a safe and humane manner. Adhere to documented standards with a strong emphasis on Biosecurity compliance. Inspect and maintain fence lines, stock water points, equipment, machinery and other infrastructure in accordance within the guidelines of BAC’s procedures. Maintain accurate records with an emphasis on the provision of accurate and timely data. Ensure all practices are environmentally sound and are implemented in accordance with the corporate Environmental Management System requirements. Represents Bengalla Agricultural Company with the highest integrity in the region as well as in the industry to create a positive image for the Company. Maintain a high level of ‘housekeeping’ within the BAC operations. Operate and maintain all cropping machinery, control cropping sequences such as, seed and tillage, fertiliser application, weed spraying, crop harvesting and irrigation in collaboration with BAC Assistant Manager and/or agronomists when engaged. Maintain records and reports on crop condition, crop yield, soil conditions, pest monitoring, noxious weed management and cropping infrastructure maintenance. Maintain an understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation. What You'll Bring: 1-2 year’s previous experience in a similar position. Certificate III in Agriculture is desirable. Current Medium Rigid driver’s license (or willing to obtain). Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication skills. Proven experience working collaboratively in team environments with a strong focus on safety and risk awareness.
