SASH Alexandria is a purpose-built veterinary referral hospital, located near Sydney’s CBD, providing 24/7 multidisciplinary care to the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and Southern Suburbs of Sydney. We are currently expanding our Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team and are seeking passionate veterinary nurses to join us in Full-Time, Part-Time and Casual positions. As part of our ECC team, you’ll play a vital role working closely with patients throughout their entire SASH journey. What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like: Assist with and/or perform advanced interventions such as placement of central, PICC and arterial lines, direct arterial pressure monitoring, urinary catheter placement, feeding tube placement, high flow nasal oxygen provision, and mechanical ventilation Participate in and lead CPR resuscitation efforts Assist with admissions and discharges from the ICU Conduct and collect various laboratory samples for internal and external analysis Assist with transfer to and reception of critical care referrals from general practice veterinarians Support the emergency department with triage and procedural responsibilities Assist with critical care anaesthesia, including TIVA, in collaboration with anaesthetists within the SASH network Who Are We Looking For? A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) A minimum of 2 years’ full-time experience as a qualified nurse Genuinely interested in Emergency and Critical Care , with a desire to be involved throughout a patient's SASH journey Demonstrated experience managing and prioritising tasks in a busy environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills to confidently liaise with clients and internal stakeholders. Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and overnights as part of a 24/7 emergency department Previous experience in emergency or specialist nursing would be highly regarded but is not essential What's in it for You?
