About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team in Officer, VIC. This full-time role is classified as an Advanced Support Worker under the NDIS Workforce Capability Framework, focusing on providing specialised and intense support to participants with diverse and complex needs. In this role, you will be at the heart of participant-focused care, performing screenings, assessments, and designing customised therapy plans to help participants develop essential communication and swallowing skills. You will work within a supportive environment that prioritises the voices, rights, and choices of the individuals we serve. Key Responsibilities Perform initial evaluations and develop individualised treatment plans for children, young people, and adults. Provide clinical services for participants with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and physical disabilities, and other complex needs. Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Maintain detailed records of participant conditions, progress, and therapeutic practices in line with NDIS requirements. Communicate clearly and respectfully, adapting methods to suit the participant's age, culture, and cognitive ability. Build trusted relationships with participants and their support networks (family, friends, and advocates). Collaborate with the broader support team to ensure a strengths-based and holistic approach to care. Actively monitor and report on participant safety, well-being, and any potential risks or changes in circumstances. Participate in continuous quality improvement and reflect on service delivery to ensure it meets participant goals. Promote independence and choice while strictly adhering to infection control and work health and safety protocols. Professional development and ongoing learning opportunities Positive workplace culture that values wellbeing and growth About You: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent with CPSP status and Registration with Speech Pathology Australia. Current Driver's License, NDIS Worker Screening, CPR/First Aid Certificate, and NDIS New Worker Induction. Exceptional coaching and verbal/written skills, with the ability to explain complex conditions without using jargon.
