Job Description Hero Calling | Principal Accountant |Management Accounting - (Contract) 14–16 Month Maternity Leave Cover | Start Late February 2026 Day Rate: $750–$850 GST The Opportunity Calling all heroes, a tier one, complex resources organisation is seeking an experienced Principal Accountant to provide maternity leave cover within a group-level management accounting function . This is a long-term contract offering exposure to senior commercial reporting and group performance metrics in a well-structured, high-performing finance team. The role sits within a centralised management accounting team supporting a major division at group level . The focus is on forward-looking and performance-based reporting rather than statutory compliance (which is handled by a separate team). Key Responsibilities Ownership of group-level management accounting deliverables Preparation and analysis of cash flow, EBITDA, and unit cost reporting Month-end accounting including capitalisation and inventory movements Support for budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis Preparation of systems-driven reports for senior leadership and investor-facing outputs Partnering with internal stakeholders across operations and finance Systems & Environment Large complex systems such as JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP, S4HANA or D365 Reporting at group and executive level , including inputs into investor relations materials Strong systems, processes, and governance already in place About the Team Diverse and collaborative finance team Age range broadly from early 20s to mid-30s Calm, professional, and well-supported environment Flexible working: 2 days WFH per week Ideal Background Senior or Principal Accountant with experience in large-scale or complex organisations Strong management accounting and commercial reporting background Comfortable operating at group level rather than site-based accounting Mining, resources, or heavy industry experience highly regarded Confident working to deadlines and engaging with senior stakeholders Contract Details Length: 14–16 months (maternity leave cover) Start: Late February 2026 Rate: $750–$850 per day GST Location: Perth-based, hybrid working model Stephen's Heroes: Want to be part of an elite candidate pool representing the top 1% of the immediately available market?
